Valvoline has announced a scholarship programme to help students pursue a career in automotive technology. The programme, known as the Valvoline Automotive Technical Scholarship, will award five $1,000 scholarships as well as a $10,000 grand prise scholarship.

The scholarship programme is available to students between the ages of 16 and 25 who plan to attend an accredited technical or vocational institution.

Students can apply for the scholarship by visiting www.valvoline.com/pages/prizezone. Scholarship applications will be accepted beginning May 7, with a deadline of December 1. From July 15 to November 15, monthly drawings will be held. The winner of the $10,000 grand prise scholarship will be chosen on or around December 15.

The scholarship prizes are not based on financial need and will be given directly to the qualified institution chosen by Valvoline for the winners to use.

“Valvoline has always encouraged do-it-yourselfers to take better care of their engines,” said John Stotz, Valvoline’s director of brand management. “The Valvoline Automotive Technical Scholarship programme demonstrates Valvoline’s commitment to young adults with a passion for cars and vehicle maintenance who want assistance in pursuing an automotive technical education.”

Requests for Charitable Contributions:

From October 1st to November 30th, we accept grant proposals. Proposals must be aligned with one of our focus areas: (1) disadvantaged families and children, (2) education, (3) the environment, or (4) diversity, equity, and inclusion, and should have an impact in areas where we operate.

We will review your proposal and determine if your opportunity is a strategic fit for Valvoline, with responses due by December 31. The Internal Revenue Service must also designate your organisation as a 501c3 organisation (IRS).

Valvoline does not accept the following types of contribution requests.

Individuals, including personal travel requests
Organizations that are fraternal, veteran, labour, or athletic in nature
Political organisations or lobbying groups
Churches and religious or sectarian organisations, unless engaged in a significant community-benefiting project
Local sports organisations’ fundraising
Organizations that may have a conflict with Valvoline Inc.’s goals, programmes, products, or employees and/or operations.
Valvoline does not support organisations that discriminate against people because of their age, race, religion, colour, gender, disability, national or ethnic origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or veteran status.

Donations in Kind

In-kind donation requests from qualified non-profit organisations will be considered on an ongoing basis and based on product availability. Priority is given to organisations that align with our focus areas and/or organisations in which our employees volunteer. Requests are only accepted from October 1 to December 31 and should be sent to [email protected]. In January, a final decision will be made.

Gift certificates for Valvoline Instant Oil Change can be obtained by calling 1-800-VALVOLINE. While requests are accepted all year, quantities are limited and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
