Applicants from specific countries, including Belgium-French Community, Walloon region, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Israel, Kazakhstan, the Republic of North Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovenia, Serbia, and Ukraine, are eligible to apply.

To be eligible for the scholarship, candidates must:

  • Be enrolled in Bachelor, Master, or PhD programs or be researchers, teachers, or PhD students.
  • Plan their study or research stays to occur before 15 September 2023 and not later than 30 August 2024.
  • Comply with the specific requirements and deadlines specified in the application form and agreement.

To apply for the scholarship, candidates need to follow the admission procedure of their respective universities. Once they have applied, they can download the application form from the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic’s official website. Applicants are required to submit the following documents along with their application:

  • Structured curriculum vitae
  • Motivation letter
  • Detailed study, teaching, or research program proposal
  • Invitation letter or letter of acceptance from the host institution (if applicable)
  • Copy of the passport
  • Recommendation letter
  • Transcript of study records
  • In the case of PhD students, university teachers, and researchers: list of own publications related to the research program of the stay
  • Copy of PhD diploma or its equivalent
  • Passport-style photo (3.5 cm x 4 cm) attached to each the original and the copy of the application form.

Benefits:

The Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic provides varying financial support to scholarship recipients based on their level of study or research:

  • Bachelor/Master level students: 400 € per month (from February 2022; instead of 280 €).
  • PhD students: 734 € per month (from February 2022; instead of 330 €).
  • University teachers or researchers (without a PhD or equivalent): 734 € per month (from February 2022; instead of 550 €).
  • University teachers or researchers (with a PhD or equivalent): 1015 € per month (from February 2022; instead of 550 €).
