Each year, approximately 200 Fellowships are awarded. The application deadlines vary by country but typically fall between May and September.

Nominating institutions must submit their nominations to the Institute of International Education office in Washington, DC, by 1st October.

What Does the Fellowship Cover?

Selected Fellows will receive comprehensive support during their program. The Fellowship covers tuition and fees at the assigned host university, pre-academic English language training if required, a maintenance allowance, including a settling-in allowance, accident and sickness coverage, a book allowance, and a one-time computer subsidy. Additionally, air travel for international and domestic travel related to the program is provided, along with a Professional Development allowance for field trips, conferences, and professional activities.

Host Institutions and Placement:

Fellows are placed at one of the participating universities in the USA. However, they do not get to choose the specific university they will attend. Instead, they are grouped with 7-15 other Fellows based on their area of interest and professional field, and then assigned to the most suitable host institution.
