See Instagram Posts Likes and Dislikes

While Instagram claims that it is no longer primarily a photo-sharing app, we still spend a significant amount of our time scrolling through our feeds and liking the photos and videos that appear on it.

How to see hidden features on Facebook market Place

Is there, however, a way to view all of the posts you’ve liked? What about discovering what other people like on Instagram? Here’s how to locate all of these items in 2022.

Can you see Instagram photos and videos you’ve previously liked?

You can only access your previously liked photos and videos through the Instagram app; you won’t be able to do so through the social site’s desktop version.

Instagram only saves the last 300 posts you’ve liked, so depending on how frequently you use the site, you’ll only be able to access a small portion of your liked posts. Of course, if you want to see if you’ve already liked a specific post, simply go to that post and see if it has already been liked.

Go to your profile tab (at the bottom right of Instagram’s home screen) to see your recently liked posts. Then, in the top right corner, tap the three lines; on the next screen, select “Your activity,” which is indicated by a small clock icon.

Select “Interactions” (the two arrows pointing in opposite directions) and then “Likes” from this menu.

This then displays the 300 most recently liked photos on the site. You can navigate to a specific post by tapping on any of the images displayed.

This page also allows you to mass unlike posts. Tap the “Select” button in the upper right corner, then select the posts you want to dislike. At the bottom, it will say “Unlike,” followed by the number of photos you’ve chosen in parenthesis. When you’ve selected all of the photos you want to dislike, tap this.

How to view the liked posts of other Instagram users.

Instagram removed the feature that allowed you to see who liked what photo under the “Following” tab years ago, but there are still ways to see who likes what photo on the app (it’s just a much more difficult process).

There are numerous online services that will allow you to view the most recent activity of any public account, but if you don’t want to sign up for yet another website (we don’t blame you), there are some alternatives.

If you want to see if your Instagram user of choice is liking a specific person’s photos, simply go to their profile and scroll through the images, looking for this person’s username in the likes. If you follow the person, their username should appear near the top of the list of likes for the photo when you click on it.

It’s worth noting, however, that if a specific user has changed their settings so that their activity status isn’t available, you may be unable to do so.

While these changes to Instagram’s interface make it more difficult to internet stalk the person of your choice, keep in mind that these safeguards were put in place to protect users’ privacy.

Reasons to Look at Your Previous Favorites

It’s useful to be able to access posts you’ve previously liked for a variety of reasons. Return to what you’ve already liked so you can:

Find new accounts to follow by liking posts on the Explore tab.
Read the lengthy caption of a post you didn’t have time to read when you liked it.
More comments are added to follow along with a discussion on a specific post as more people see it in their feeds.
Leave a comment on a post that you enjoyed but didn’t have time to write about at the time.
Revisit useful information that you want to look into further later, such as a product, service, contest, workout routine, recipe, makeup tutorial, or something else.
What you like on Instagram is more than just a friendly gesture to let the poster know you agree with their post. It’s a fantastic way to save things that are interesting and valuable enough to revisit.

Revisiting Liked Posts Has Limitations

You’ll only be able to see the 300 most recent posts (photos and videos) that you’ve liked, according to Instagram’s Help page. That’s still a lot, but if you’re an Instagram power user who likes hundreds of posts per day, or if you need to find something you liked a few weeks ago, you might be out of luck.

Liked posts are only displayed if they were liked via the Instagram mobile app or the web. However, the app only displays liked posts. It’s unclear whether any Instagram posts you liked using a third-party app like Iconosquare will appear, but if it doesn’t work for Instagram’s own web platform, it’s likely that it won’t work for third-party apps either.

Finally, if you leave a comment on a photo or video but don’t like it, you won’t be able to find it again if you lose it. You can only see posts you’ve liked by tapping the heart button (or double-tapping the post) in the “Posts You’ve Liked” section of your profile settings, not only posts you’ve commented on. So, even if your main intention is to leave a comment, hit the heart button if you want to be able to return to a post later.

How do you delete Instagram posts that you liked?

If you no longer want to “like” a post, open it and tap the heart icon to unlike it. This removes it from the list of Posts You’ve Liked.

How do you see posts liked by others on Instagram?

Instagram used to allow you to view another user’s activity, but that practise was discontinued in 2019 due to privacy concerns. In the app, the only way to see what people like is to select a specific post and tap where it says “X likes” to see everyone who liked that post.

How do you hide Instagram likes?

To hide the total number of likes and views on posts from other accounts, go to Settings > Privacy > Posts and toggle the Hide Like and View Counts toggle to On. To hide the like counts on your own posts, navigate to your feed, tap the three vertical dots next to a post, and then select Hide like count.
