Allan & Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Masters Scholarships at University of Sheffield

The University of Sheffield, in partnership with the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust and the Sheffield Institute for International Development, offers scholarships to international students from developing countries. These scholarships are designed for various courses affiliated with the Sheffield Institute for International Development.

Eligible Courses: The scholarships are available for the following courses:

  1. International Development MA
  2. Environmental Change and International Development MSc
  3. International Development (Masters in Public Health) MPH
  4. International Law and Global Justice LLM
  5. International Political Economy MA
  6. Global Journalism MA
  7. International Public and Political Communication MA
  8. Intercultural Communication MA

Target Group: The scholarships are open to students from developing countries across the globe. The eligible countries include Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Cambodia, Ghana, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Vietnam, and many others.

Number of Scholarships: Four scholarships are available for the academic year 2023.

Scholarship Value: Each scholarship includes a full tuition fee waiver and a maintenance stipend.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for these scholarships, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Hold an offer to study one of the eligible courses at the University of Sheffield for the 2023/24 academic year by 5 May 2023.
  2. Be classified as an overseas student for tuition fee purposes.
  3. Be self-funded and not sponsored by any research council, government, private enterprise, charity, or similar organization.
  4. Enroll as a full-time student in 2023; the scholarship cannot be deferred.
  5. Successfully meet any conditions attached to your offer before the provided deadline.
  6. Obtain a study visa for the University of Sheffield before September 2023.
  7. Be a national of or permanently domiciled in one of the eligible countries or territories.

Application Process: Applications for these scholarships are currently closed. If you receive an offer to study one of the eligible courses and you are from an eligible country, you will be automatically considered for the scholarship. The deadline for admissions is 5 May 2023. Selected applicants will be contacted before Thursday, 18 May 2023, to invite them to apply further. Contacted applicants will need to submit their applications before 1 pm on Wednesday, 31 May 2023.
