Fully-Funded Rotary Peace Fellowships

The Rotary Peace Fellowships offer a unique opportunity for global peace and development leaders to pursue fully funded academic programs related to peace and conflict resolution.

Each year, Rotary selects up to 90 exceptional individuals from around the world to participate in this life-changing initiative.

The fellowship supports recipients in enrolling in either a Professional Development Certificate Program or a Master’s Degree Program at one of the participating peace centers in six countries – USA, Japan, UK, Australia, Sweden, and Uganda.

Scholarship Details: The Rotary Peace Fellowships provide up to 50 fellowships for Master’s degree programs and 40 for certificate studies annually. The scholarship covers all expenses, including tuition and fees, room and board, round-trip transportation, as well as internship and field-study costs.

Host Institutions and Programs: Recipients have the opportunity to study at renowned peace centers in the following institutions:

1. Duke University and University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA: Offers the Master of International Development Policy Program (MIDP) and various degrees offered by the University of North Carolina.
2. International Christian University, Japan: Provides a Master’s Degree in Peace Studies.
3. University of Bradford, England: Offers the Advanced Practice in Peacebuilding and Conflict Resolution MA.
4. University of Queensland, Australia: Provides the Master of Peace and Conflict Studies (MPACS).
5. Uppsala University, Sweden: Offers the Peace and Conflict Studies (MS.Sc.).
6. Makerere University, Uganda: Provides a Post-Graduate Diploma in Peace and Development Studies (certificate program). Candidates from Uganda are allowed to study at the Rotary Peace Center at Makerere University.

Eligibility Criteria: The Rotary Peace Fellowship is designed for professionals with work experience in international development or peace and conflict prevention and resolution. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Have three years of related work experience for the Master’s program, or five years of related work experience for the certificate program.
• Demonstrate proficiency in English (English language standardized test scores are required for non-native English speakers).
• Hold a bachelor’s degree (Master’s candidates must provide transcripts).
• Exhibit leadership skills and a strong commitment to cross-cultural understanding and peace.
• For Makerere University applicants, they must either be from Africa, have worked in Africa, or be involved in initiatives benefiting African communities outside the continent.
