ADB-Japan Scholarship Program for Developing Countries in Asia and the Pacific 2023-23 is now open to Asian Development Bank Members. The scholarship allows for Masters level programmes in All Subjects. Subjects Available: The following subjects are available for study through this scholarship programme.

The ADB-JSP covers postgraduate studies in economics, management, health, education, agriculture, environment, natural resource management, science and technology, and other fields related to development.

ADB-JSP funding is only available for programmes offered at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Regions.

Scholarship Benefits: Scholarships are available to citizens of ADB borrowing member countries.
The ADB-JSP covers full tuition, a monthly subsistence and housing allowance, a book and instructional material allowance, medical insurance, and travel expenses.
The scholarship is for one year, with an option to extend to the second year of study if the scholar maintains a satisfactory level of performance as determined by the institute.

The maximum duration of a scholarship award for master’s and doctorate programmes is two years.

Scholarship in Philippines 2023/2024

Eligible Nationalities for scholarships in Philippines:

The scholarships are open to citizens of ADB’s  borrowing member countries.

  1. 1 A citizen of an ADB borrower country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship).
  2. 2 Been accepted into an approved MA/PhD programme at an academic institution.
  3. 3 A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, plus an outstanding academic record.
  4. 4 At the time of application, you must have at least two (2) years of full-time professional working experience (following a university degree). To be able to pursue studies, you must be fluent in both oral and written English communication.
  5. 5 Must be under the age of 35 at the time of application. In exceptional cases, the age limit for programmes appropriate for senior officials and managers is 45 years old.
  6. 6. In good physical condition.
  7. 7. Should agree to return to his or her home country after completing the Program’s studies.
  8. 8. The Scholarship is not open to Executive Directors, Alternate Directors, ADB management and staff, consultants, or relatives of the aforementioned.
  9. 9. Academic institution employees are not eligible for the Scholarship.
  10. 10. Scholarships are not available to applicants who live or work in a country other than their home country.
  11. 11. The ADB-JSP does not provide assistance to applicants who are already enrolled in graduate degree programmes.
  12. 12. Undergraduate studies, distance learning programmes, short-term training, conferences, seminars, thesis writing, and research projects are not supported by ADB-JSP.

Application Procedure:

Applicants should request information and application forms from their prefered academic institution and inform them that they are applying for admission and want to be considered for the ADB-JSP Scholarship.
The academic institution should receive the completed Institution application form and all required documentation, including the ADB-JSP Information Sheet form. There is no need to submit a separate application to ADB.
Scholarship applications must be submitted at least six months before the start date of your studies. Please refer to the participating academic institutions’ normal month of intake and application deadline.

2. Star Scholarship At De La Salle University, Philippines

Scholarship Description: The Star Scholarship is available for domestic students at De La Salle University in the Philippines. The scholarship allows for Undergraduate and Graduate level programmes in the field of All Subjects taught at De La Salle University. The scholarship deadline is Open for 2020.
