Scholarship Details:

This prestigious scholarship aims to encourage and empower women over the age of 18 years to excel in STEM disciplines. To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Citizenship: New Zealand citizens are welcome to apply for the scholarship.
  2. Duration of Citizenship or Permanent Residence: Candidates should have been New Zealand citizens for at least 10 years or hold New Zealand Permanent Residence, or a current New Zealand Residency Class Visa. Additionally, they should have been a citizen of the United Kingdom, Canada, United States of America, or Australia for at least 10 years.
  3. Enrollment: Students must have already enrolled or have been accepted to enroll in a full-time STEM degree program at an approved NZQA-accredited tertiary provider in New Zealand for the upcoming academic year.
  4. Security Clearance: Candidates should be eligible to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.

Scholarship Value:

The GCSB’s Women in STEM Scholarship offers a generous amount of NZ $10,000 to successful applicants. This financial aid can be spread over three years, depending on the student’s study plans.

Selection Process:

The selection committee will evaluate candidates based on various factors, including:

  1. Academic Achievements: A strong academic track record will be considered.
  2. Honors and Awards: Any exceptional awards or recognition received by the applicant will be taken into account.
