Are you a talented student from outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA) looking to pursue a Master’s degree abroad?

If so, the VU Fellowship Programme (VUFP) at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands might be the perfect opportunity for you!

The VU Fellowship Programme offers non-EU/EEA students a unique chance to study a Master’s degree at one of the top universities in the Netherlands. The program covers the tuition fees for selected English-taught Master’s Degree Programmes offered at the university.

Here are some key points to consider about the VUFP scholarship:

  1. Eligibility: To be eligible for the VUFP scholarship, you must have a non-EU/EEA passport and be unable to qualify for the lower tuition fee. Additionally, you should demonstrate academic excellence, with a GPA equivalent to a Dutch 8. The degree you seek admission to should not have been obtained in the Netherlands, and you should be conditionally or unconditionally admitted to the first year of a full-time English-taught Master’s programme at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, starting in September 2023.
  2. Scholarship Value: The VUFP scholarship covers the tuition fees for the Master’s programme. However, it does not provide any additional allowance for study or living costs. There is also an opportunity to apply for the Holland Scholarship Programme, which can offer financial support for living expenses.
  3. Application Process: To apply for the VUFP scholarship, you need to register for a Master’s programme in Studielink by 1 December 2022 (from 1 October 2022). After that, you must submit your VUFP application, along with supporting documents, through your VU dashboard before 1 February 2023 (from 1 November 2022). Remember, you must apply and receive conditional admission for the Master’s programme before applying for the scholarship.
  4. Duration: The VUFP scholarship can be granted for a one or two-year Master’s programme. For two-year programs, the scholarship’s extension to the second year depends on achieving 100% of the credits in the first year.
