Who is Eligible?

  1. Be a national of a World Bank member country, with preference given to applicants from developing nations.
  2. Proficient in English, as the research and communication will be conducted in this language.
  3. Hold a graduate degree at the MA level or currently pursuing a PhD in Economics or a related field.
  4. Be no older than 35 years of age by June 30th of the year the fellowship commences.
  5. Be available and willing to relocate to Washington D.C. for the entire duration of the fellowship.

Scholarship Benefits:

Selected fellows will receive a competitive compensation of $44,888 (net of income taxes) for the eight-month fellowship period. This amount will be disbursed in monthly installments to support their living expenses during their stay in Washington D.C. The World Bank’s HR Operations unit will also provide assistance to the fellows in applying for a G4 visa.
