Scholarship Details:
The university is pleased to announce the Burman University New International World Scholarship, which awards $1500 to deserving international students. This scholarship is open to applicants from all nationalities who wish to pursue any undergraduate program at Burman University.
Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have initial admission to Burman University without any previous post-secondary transfer credits or degrees.
- Quebec students with a Level 5 diploma, and if applicable, one year of CEGEP, are eligible for Entrance Awards. Level 5 coursework can be used for percentage calculations.
- Have completed high school and hold English 30-1 or its equivalent with a minimum grade of 60%.
- Have completed four additional grade 12 courses, with at least three of them being academic courses.
- Maintain an overall average of 60%, with no grade falling below 55%.
Application Process:
The application process is simple. You don’t need to submit a separate application for the scholarship. Just apply for admission at Burman University, and you will automatically be considered for the scholarship program. If applicable, you can also request and submit a reference by the specified deadline.
English Language Proficiency:
Since the primary language of instruction at Burman University is English, international students must meet one of the following English language proficiency requirements:
- International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5
- Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 83 (internet-based) or 560 (paper-based). Institutional Code for TOEFL is 0914-01.
- Canadian Academic English Assessment (CAEL) with a minimum score of 70.
- Cambridge B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency with a minimum score of 176
- Pearson English Language Test (PTE) with a minimum score of 58
- Duolingo English test with a minimum score of 110.
- Official transcripts showing successful completion of English 30-1, or its equivalent from another Canadian province, with a minimum grade of 60%.
- Official transcripts from an accredited Canadian, American, British, or Australian post-secondary institution showing successful completion of an English literature course with a grade of C or higher.
- Transcripts showing successful completion of one year of full-time study at an accredited secondary or post-secondary institution where the language of instruction is English with a cumulative percentage of 60% or a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
