In any given academic year, students are only eligible for ONE scholarship of the highest value. These scholarship programmes are available to students starting in the 2023 academic year.
English Language Requirements at the University of Plymouth
International students who wish to study at the University of Plymouth in the United Kingdom must demonstrate their English language proficiency through any English language tests.
The University of Plymouth does not require IELTS.
The University of Plymouth accepts IELTS, but it is not a requirement for applicants. Because the University of Plymouth recognises SELT, Studentereksamen (STX), TOEFL, PTE Pearsons Academic module, European Baccalaureate, Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs (VWO), and Diploma de Bacalaureat.
If you meet the eligibility requirements, the University of Plymouth scholarship will be automatically awarded to you. There will be no need for a separate application.
Scholarships for Postgraduate International Students at Plymouth University
If you meet the eligibility requirements, you will be automatically considered for this scholarship. There will be no need for a separate application.
Exceptions:
Please be aware that the Postgraduate Taught International Student Scholarship scheme does not cover programmes offered by the following schools:
- Peninsula Dental College
School of Art, Design, and Architecture at Peninsula Medical School
School of Psychology School of Biomedical Sciences (see below for School of Psychology scholarships).
Please be aware that the Postgraduate Taught International Student Scholarship scheme does not cover the following programmes:
- Environmental Geochemistry Master’s Degree
Scholarship amount: £2000 off tuition in year one.

- obtain a good UK 2:1 degree classification
satisfy our basic English language requirements
Scholarships for International Academic Excellence at Plymouth University
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must submit an application.
Exceptions:

Scholarship value: 50% off tuition for the first year.
If you are pursuing a full-time two-year postgraduate taught degree, you may also be eligible for the following:
If an overall grade of 70% or higher is maintained, the following year’s tuition fee will be reduced by 50%.

have a strong academic record and meet our English language requirements
have a letter of unconditional/conditional acceptance from the University of Plymouth
fill out a scholarship application form
International Postgraduate Platinum Scholarships at the School of Psychology
Scholarship amount: £4000 off tuition in year one.
This scholarship is available to international students who have met the requirements of their University of Plymouth study offer for the following programmes:
Plymouth University MSc Advanced Psychology MSc/PgDip Psychology MSc Clinical Psychology Alumnus loyalty incentive for postgraduate studies
When alumni meet certain criteria on specific postgraduate taught courses, the University offers a discretionary alumnus reward.
A 20% discount on tuition fees paid at home or in the EU.
Alternatively, a £2,000 discount on international tuition fees.
This award excludes PGCE programmes, Master of Architecture, MChem, MEng, MGeol, MPsych, MSci, ResMed, MSc Psychology, MSc Advanced Psychology, MSc Clinical Psychology, MSc Occupational Therapy, MSc Environmental Consultancy, MSc Sustainable Aquaculture, MSc Environmental Geochemistry, and postgraduate research degrees. Please keep in mind that students must have applied directly to be considered.
