Scholarship Description

The Global Excellence Scholarships are available to high-achieving undergraduate and postgraduate students from selected countries around the world who wish to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification at the University of Western Australia.

Scholarship worth and inclusions:

The scholarship award, in the form of an annual tuition fee reduction, is worth up to AUD 36,000-48,000 over three to four years for Bachelor’s degree students and up to AUD 24,000 over two years for postgraduates.

The Scholarship is valued according to the applicant’s equivalent Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) or UWA weighted average mark (WAM). For more information, visit the official website (link provided below).

Eligibility:

Applicants for scholarships must be citizens of one of the countries on the list (see above). They must have been offered a place on an undergraduate or postgraduate course at the University and have an ATAR of 88.00 – 98.00+ or a WAM of 70.00 – 85.00+.

Instructions for use:

Eligible applicants to the University will be automatically considered for the scholarship; no separate application is required. Those who meet the ATAR/WAM requirements are automatically awarded the scholarship. The deadline for admissions for postgraduate studies beginning in 2022 and 2023 varies depending on the course; see the different timelines. Applications for undergraduate studies are open two years before the start date.

  • NEW COLOMBO PLAN
  • The New Colombo Plan is a signature initiative of the Australian Government which aims to lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting undergraduate students to study and undertake internships in the region. The New Colombo Plan supports you to study for up to one year in an Indo-Pacific country, including an internship or mentorship.

    • Funding of up to $75,000 over 19 months (12 months of study and associated internship), including tuition fees, a monthly stipend, and travel, accommodation, and health allowance
