Eligibility Criteria: To apply for a full New Zealand Scholarship, you must be 18 years old or older when commencing your scholarship. However, there is no upper age limit, and applicants under 40 years old are preferred for university or tertiary scholarships.
Academic Requirements: While applying, you need to select your preferred education institution and courses. You don’t need to apply for admission separately, but you must ensure you meet the minimum academic requirements and English language proficiency set by your chosen institution.
English Language Proficiency: For postgraduate programs, an overall IELTS score of 6.5 with no band less than 6.0 or equivalent TOEFL, PTE Academic, or Cambridge Academic English scores are generally required. For undergraduate qualifications, the minimum English language requirements are slightly lower.
Contribution to Home Country’s Development: Applicants are expected to contribute to their country’s social or economic development for at least two years after completing their studies in New Zealand. The scholarships aim to equip students from developing countries with valuable skills and knowledge to positively impact their home countries upon their return.
Application Process: Although applications are currently closed, interested candidates can apply online through specific links for their respective countries or regions when the scholarship round is open. The deadline for the 2023 selection round was 28th February 2023 at 12.00 pm (midday).
