  5. Hold a non-immigrant student visa status in the USA (preferably F1 or J1 visa holders).
  6. Engaged in UNM research, project assistantship, or teaching activities.
  7. Not previously attended the same degree level at UNM.

Application Process:

The application process for the International Amigo Scholarship is straightforward:

  1. Interested students should apply for admission to a Master’s or Ph.D. program at UNM.
  2. Upon acceptance to a UNM graduate program, the respective department will nominate eligible candidates for the scholarship.
  3. There is no need for a separate application for the International Amigo Scholarship.
  4. The scholarship is awarded based on departmental nominations, with a maximum of 10 Amigo offers per department after the nomination priority deadline.
  5. For the fall semester, nominations are prioritized before February 28th, and for the spring semester, before September 30th.
