Scholarship Value/Duration:

  • A consumables fund of £2,000 per annum for the first 3 years of the study
  • Access to a series of tailor-made opportunities and events organized by the Graduate School

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the President’s PhD Scholarships, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Talented candidates from Imperial College London, the UK, and around the world are encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants should be among the highest achievers in their undergraduate cohort and hold or expect to receive a first-class UK degree or its equivalent.
  • Students with a standalone Master’s qualification must have achieved a distinction or provide evidence of high performance leading to a distinction. They must also possess a first-class UK undergraduate degree or its equivalent.
  • Candidates with degrees from international institutions should determine if their scores/grades meet the relevant eligibility criteria.
  • Before applying, candidates must establish contact with a supervisor from an academic department at Imperial College London who agrees to supervise their research project. Please note that supervisors can only support one scholar at a time. Current registered Imperial PhD students are not eligible for this scholarship, as the program is only open to new PhD applicants.

Application Process:

Applications for the President’s PhD Scholarships are currently closed. To apply for this scholarship, there is no specific application form.

Instead, interested candidates should submit their applications for admission to study at Imperial College London through the online admissions system. The department will then consider eligible applicants for the scholarship based on their academic merit and potential. Applications will be reviewed at different times throughout the academic year, with cutoff dates for decisions on 9th November 2018, 18th January 2019, and 22nd March 2019.
