  1. Rurality, Help-Seeking and Care Proceedings (Law School):
  • This PhD focuses on understanding the role of place in children’s life chances, particularly in deprived, rural locations and their connection to the family justice system.
  • Applicants will conduct qualitative research into help-seeking behaviors among parents facing parenting difficulties and child protection issues, to identify opportunities and barriers to accessing support systems.
  1. Transnationalism, Mobility & Borders (Lancaster Institute for the Contemporary Arts):
  • This program encourages practice-based and/or critical research on pressing contemporary issues, including migration, racism, globalization, postcolonialism, and more.
  • The research should be situated within the disciplines of Art, Design, Architecture, Film, and Theatre, with an emphasis on politically and socially engaged projects.
